Hyaluron is synthesized by epidermal keratinocytes and dermal fibroblasts and composed of polysaccharidemolecules mainly responsible for holding water in the skin and keep it firm and plump.Hyaluronic Acid of high molecular weight (ca. 2,000kDa) can bind high amounts of water and functions as moisturizer in upper cell layers smoothening fine wrinkles. Hyaluronic acid of low molecular weight (ca. 52kDa) penetrates into epidermal skin layers, activates skin’s own hyaluronansynthesis and activates cell proliferation.
